Clearance Procedures:

  1. Importer must submit documents such as Passport, Bill of Lading, Invoice, etc. for inspection at the Customs Department or port of entry.
  2. Importer must register for paperless system. Cetain goods are required to get import permit.
  3. Importer must pay D/O, lift-on, lift off fees to shipping agency.
  4. Customs officers will assess duties and taxes from complete importation forms.
  5. Importer will receive returned importation forms from Customs official. If there are customs fees, importer must pay.
  6. Importer collects goods from the port of entry.

 

            Personal and Household effects are exempted from all customs duties. Personal effects refer to items clearly identifiable as personal use, and household effects refer to properties which were in owner’s possession prior to his/her change of residence.                   
However, Automobiles, ammunition, weapons, and food items are not considered to be personal and household effects.

    • Pets are not exempted from customs fees. The owner of the pets must acquire a permit from Livestock Department prior to the date of entry.
    • Food must get a permit from Food and Drug Administration Ministry of Public health.
    • Automobile must get a permit from the Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry, and Commerce Ministry
    • Weapons must get the permit from the Department of Provincial Administration.
