List Of Harmonized Tariff Codes

The Harmonized Tariff Schedule is basically a list that shows the tariff that is charged on different products that are imported into a country. This list is a classification system that categorizes goods as per the International Harmonized Commodity Coding and Classification System. This system was developed by the World Customs Organization.

 

 

Nearly all countries used the Harmonized Commodity Coding and Classification System as a base for their tariffs. The goods are classified and categorized based on the processing system, with raw material being classified in the first chapters and finished goods in the later chapters of the system.

In addition, the Harmonized Tariff Code system shows the import codes in Schedule A and the export codes in Schedule B.

In the US, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule is overseen by the US International Trade Commission. However, collecting the tariff on imports is the responsibility of the US Customs Service.
