Transportation is a means of conveyance for people and goods to be carried from one place to another. There has always been some or the other kind of transport ever since man evolved. However, today transport is a motorized form of conveyance and there are several kinds of transport. They have been broadly classified into public transport and personal transport.

Public transport is a system where a lot of people use one vehicle to commute and basically it is a shared commodity. This type of transportation is supplied by the government administration.

Personal transport is used by a single person or just one family and they are much smaller in comparison to public transport vehicles. As the name suggests, personal transportation belong to their respective owners and the government does not have the ownership in any form.

From a broad perspective, humans are highly dependent on transportation to exist. Transportation is used in every single industry like import and export, moving, living, commuting and much more. Without transportation no country can run successfully. So, the application of transport is very crucial to our very existence or else the world will come to a halt.

Some economists, who study the various aspects of macroeconomic, believe that the need for transport is going to go down with the increase in usage of internet. Internet is going to take over the world in a big way restricting all other tools that humans have been using so far. However, transport is not going to be one of them. The use of personal transport may get restricted but not otherwise.

Transport will always play an equivalent role in several industries in the world. Travel and tourism, economic activities, politics, and also trade and commerce are largely dependant on transport and they will continue to be in the future also.
