History Of Transportation

Ever since man evolved and reached a stage where he began civilization, there has always been some kind of transportation. Initially animals where used with small contraptions attached to them after that the wheel was discovered.

The wheel has been considered as the greatest discovery of all. It led to the discovery and development of various kinds of transport. Man also traveled on sea using logs of wood as a means of transportation. However, initial transportation which evolved in the very beginning civilization was very primitive.

Today's transportation industry is considered to be the most innovative of all. Take a car for example, with very new model that is launched there is a new additional innovative feature added.

Man probably started off with bullock carts on the land and basic log boats used as river boats for water. Until then, the main means of transport was sea and land.  Horses were also domesticated to be used for carts. The wheel barrow was invented sometime in 181 to 231. It is then a lot of inventions came through. The mechanized form of transport was invented only in 1783 and it was in the form of a steam boat. This revolutionized water transportation. After the steam boats came the steam engine.

Air travel was invented much later by the Wright brothers and the world knows that. In 1620, the world’s first submarine was invented and it had to be paddled across. One could not go very far with it. In 1807, the world’s first powered vehicle was made for the road and it was hydrogen gas powered vehicle.
